Baiting used in Hamlet

A few examples of baiting used in Hamlet are:
1.) when Polonius sends Reynaldo to France to see what Laertes is doing there and inquire about Laertes' personal life through befriending Laertes' friends and seeing what the real deal is & to catch Laertes' if he was disobeying his father or doing stupid things.
2.) when Claudius & Gertrude uses Ophelia to dig into Hamlet's madness. They also use Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in attempt to discover what the deal is with Hamlet going crazy.
3.) when Hamlet uses the play "The Mousetrap" to lure the king into saying that he killed the king/prove that Claudius killed his father. Hamlet asks Horatio to carefully watch Claudius and catch him showing any signs of guilt.

Baiting is significant in this story because it just makes the plot even more intense and interesting and as we have seen, it is used a lot in Hamlet.

Hamlet and worldviews

I think Hamlet just has a number of mixed up worldviews. Some things passed down to Hamlet: His father supposedly gave him the throne to the kingdom; his mom through her actions, relates to him a lustful type of woman which causes him to generalize about women and their frailty; the whole kingdom of Denmark is just full of immorality since they like to get drunk all the time and so he has to deal with that.

Hamlet Questions

1.) Is Hamlet really crazy?
I think Hamlet is not really crazy. I think he is just faking it since he is able to switch from being out of his mind (crazy) to being sane when he chooses.
2.) Why did Ophelia give back the token of love that Hamlet gave her?
She gave it back because he was treating her differently and doesn't really love her now that he "lost his mind" and he harrasses her.
