ANTS

Well, last last Monday i bumped into this girl at walmart who i heard was talking bad stuff about one of my friends but i really did not know if that was true since i didnt really know her. We just knew each other by face from a couple of times seeing each other and that's about it. So i saw her and she saw me and you know when you have that feeling that you know a person wants to say something but they just dont have the courage to be the first to speak up i guess, well that was her. So i walked up to her and i said hi with a big smile and i was thinking in my head oh no she is going to diss me or something but i was wrong she responded back with a smile and then she went off about the whole issue that was going on i didnt even have to say much. And so now, we figured things out and we're friends now so i'm glad i stepped out and took that risk of talking even though i had some sort of fear of rejection or whatever.

Horatio's response

I think Horatio's response was approving because if he was disapproving then i think he would have said more about them. Since they are not essential and just tools and really minor to the story i think it just makes sense that they are given less attention and showed no great significance which also makes me think why Horatio would be approving of it and not disapproving

Baiting used in Hamlet

A few examples of baiting used in Hamlet are:
1.) when Polonius sends Reynaldo to France to see what Laertes is doing there and inquire about Laertes' personal life through befriending Laertes' friends and seeing what the real deal is & to catch Laertes' if he was disobeying his father or doing stupid things.
2.) when Claudius & Gertrude uses Ophelia to dig into Hamlet's madness. They also use Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in attempt to discover what the deal is with Hamlet going crazy.
3.) when Hamlet uses the play "The Mousetrap" to lure the king into saying that he killed the king/prove that Claudius killed his father. Hamlet asks Horatio to carefully watch Claudius and catch him showing any signs of guilt.

Baiting is significant in this story because it just makes the plot even more intense and interesting and as we have seen, it is used a lot in Hamlet.

Hamlet and worldviews

I think Hamlet just has a number of mixed up worldviews. Some things passed down to Hamlet: His father supposedly gave him the throne to the kingdom; his mom through her actions, relates to him a lustful type of woman which causes him to generalize about women and their frailty; the whole kingdom of Denmark is just full of immorality since they like to get drunk all the time and so he has to deal with that.

Hamlet Questions

1.) Is Hamlet really crazy?
I think Hamlet is not really crazy. I think he is just faking it since he is able to switch from being out of his mind (crazy) to being sane when he chooses.
2.) Why did Ophelia give back the token of love that Hamlet gave her?
She gave it back because he was treating her differently and doesn't really love her now that he "lost his mind" and he harrasses her.
